An invited competition was held for the conversion of the main passage of the Karlsplatz subway station into “Kunst Passage Karlsplatz.” Nine internationally acclaimed artists—Lee Bul, Ernst Caramelle, Barbara Kruger, Sarah Morris, Jorge Pardo, Gerwald Rockenschaub, Markus Schinwald, Sam Taylor-Wood, and Cerith Wyn Evans—submitted their ideas. The jury finally chose Ernst Caramelle as the winner of the competition. The publication presents and comprehensively documents all projects submitted.
