"Sing along" is the invitation of the Vienna-based artist Ines Doujak to participate in musical performances at the Viktor-Adler-Markt. In Favoriten she goes on a musical search for clues. One of the musical traditions of the district is the workers' song. This has led her to commission compositions by musicians who bring together the musical present, a variety of ethnic cultures and their different musical styles. Doujak has written song texts in several languages. The songs and the "Sing Along!" lyrics booklets with their multilingual covers distributed in the streets are aimed at the multilingual residents of the district. At the same time they refer to the internationality of the workers' struggles, the current effects of global neoliberal economic policies and their conditions of exploitation.
For her public appearances, Ines Doujak uses the familiar image of the rat as a historically established caricature to defame and dehumanize dissenters in political debates. A 1.7 meter tall rat on wheels with loudspeakers on its back is pulled along Favoritenstraße by a person dressed as a rat catcher.
