living books works like a public library, where the "books" are people (for example Muslims, refugees, policemen), which may be "borrowed" by readers for personal conversations. living books created a temporary structured space where the "books" could discard their stereotypical attributes and take on the position of a speaking subject. The project, realized by Christian Hortulany, was organized as part of Soho Ottakring festival, among others; it was repeated in 2008 as well as in 2009 and there are plans to continue it in the future.
